Our Vision

Our department has determined as its vision to train teachers who have scientific literacy with strong field knowledge and field education, are equipped with 21st Century skills, and can use reasoning and high-level thinking skills.

In line with this vision; An educational approach that keeps pace with the developments in science, technology, environmental fields and education in these fields is adopted. With this understanding, our department, which has been continuing its education and research activities with the same vision since its establishment in 1998, had its first graduates in 2002.

 

Our Programs

In our department, education is provided at three different levels: undergraduate, graduate and doctoral.

Our undergraduate program is four years old and includes field knowledge courses (physics, chemistry, biology, environment), field knowledge education courses (Nature of Science education, Science Education, Science Teaching Laboratory Applications, Instructional technologies and material design, etc.), skill training courses (Scientific Education). reasoning skills, thinking skills in the context of science, etc.), professional knowledge and general culture compulsory and elective courses, it produces an average of 60 graduates every year.

Students can choose courses that suit their interests and wishes from the elective course pools in our master's and doctoral programs.

Our academic staff includes 5 professors, 3 associate professors and 1 assistant professors.

 

Our Alumni

Students who graduate from our department have the opportunity to work as science teachers in private and public educational institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. They also have the opportunity to pursue an academic career in science education, STEM fields of study and different science fields.
